What is an immigration bond?

Detained immigrants sometimes have the opportunity to be released on a cash bond while fighting their immigration cases.

Many people cannot afford the high bond amounts set by ICE or immigration judges. When someone does receive a bond, the amount can range anywhere from $1,500 to $50,000. Here we've seen an average bond amount of about $6000.

So we pay that bond because no one should be kept in a cage and no one should have to go into debt to pay for their freedom.
